Exhibition Venue: Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise

Stories | Quellenhof Lazise

Since its opening, the Luxury Resort Lazise has been a venue for works by renowned Italian artists. Starting in August 2024, we are continuing this tradition in collaboration with the German art gallery Kunstgalerie Bech in Schorndorf.
Original pieces, carefully selected to complement the resort’s ambiance, enrich our guests’ experience and add an extra touch of exclusivity.
The positive energy radiating from these artworks can be felt throughout the entire resort. Let yourself be inspired!

Below, we present a short profile of the artist Claudio Nicoli.
Among his works on display at our resort are: the large sculpture in the corridor near Suite No. 111, Il Grande Acrobata (The Great Acrobat); the sculpture at the entrance to the spa reception, Nudo Architettonico (Architectural Nude); and, in the corridor on the second floor, where the Penthouse Pool Villas are located on the left and the restaurant on the right, Icaro con Sole (Icarus with Sun).
In addition to his sculptures, the Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise also exhibits several of Claudio Nicoli’s paintings, displayed e.g. near Suites 173-177 and 159-162 on the first floor.

Have you already discovered the artwork Europa e Giove? In this piece, the Roman father of the gods and shapeshifter, Jupiter, transforms into a triumphant and proud bull, carrying off a newly abducted, aerodynamically shaped Europa with pride and pleasure. Here’s a tip: it’s located on the ground floor.

Short Profile: Claudio Nicoli

Claudio Nicoli originates from San Giovanni in Persiceto, near Bologna, where he earned a doctorate in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts. He lives in Umbria, near the Tuscan border, in the heart of the ancient Etruscan homeland, and prefers terracotta and bronze for his creations.
His artistic background is linked to Marino Marini (1901–1980), known for his focus on archaic and Etruscan sculpture. However, Nicoli is not bound to the past: as a sculptor of the 20th century, he draws inspiration from the beauty of Apollo and the madness of Dionysus. Mythology forms an integral part of his unconscious connection to the world of dreams.

All of Claudio Nicoli’s original works displayed at the Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise are available for purchase. Information and prices are available at the reception.
