Since its opening, Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise has been an exhibition venue for the works of Italian artists. From August 2024, we will continue this tradition in collaboration with the German art gallery Kunstgalerie Bech in Schorndorf.
The original works, specially selected for the resort environment, enrich our guests' experience and give it even greater exclusivity.
The artists on display are among the most renowned in Italy, active in both public and private exhibitions as well as museums. The art exhibits at our resort are therefore constantly evolving, with works being acquired for private collections and new productions continuously added.
Feel free to go for a walk through the property, immersing yourself in dialogue with the artworks. The positive energy they convey can be felt throughout the house. Let yourself be inspired!
Below we present artist Paolo Staccioli in a brief profile.
His works on display include the majestic Guerrieri and Guerriere (Warriors and Warrior women) on the ground floor and in the Adult Spa relaxation area, bronze angels on horseback and with small wings (Cavallo con Angelo) in the sports pool area, and the smaller Guerriero and Angelo sculptures in the restaurant.
Staccioli was born in 1943 in Scandicci, near Florence, where he still lives and works. In the early 1970s, he attracted the attention of the art world with his pictorial works. It was not until twenty years later that he found his true passion and perfected an art form that best expressed his creativity: ceramics and sculpture. His works reflect a process of continuous development. Inspired by ancient legends and myths, the main theme of his creations is that of unreal individuals, free from the concepts of space and time, but able to connect past and present. Each work tells a unique story, which is intensified by the play of color.
The solo exhibition Paolo Staccioli - A Traveler Fascinated by the Ancient, which was on display until October 2024 at the Museo delle Navi Antiche in Pisa, was a great success among art critics and collectors internationally. Some of the works on display were directly transferred from Pisa to Lazise.
