Since August 2024, the Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise has continued its tradition as an exhibition venue in collaboration with the German art gallery Bech in Schorndorf.
Original works by renowned Italian artists, carefully selected to complement the resort’s ambiance, enrich its interior spaces, offering our guests an even more exclusive experience.
Below, we present a brief profile of the artist Giovanni Maranghi.
Born in 1955 in Signa, near Florence, Maranghi studied at the Accademia delle Belle Arti e d’Architettura in Florence, where he still resides today. His works are featured in the collections of art collectors and prominent museums worldwide.
Prof. Antonio Natali, Director of the Uffizi Gallery from 2006 to 2015, described his creations as a unique fusion of poetry and research. Maranghi is a master of traditional techniques such as encaustic painting, while also embracing new forms of interpretation by incorporating digital technologies and a subtle touch of irony into his works.
Another hallmark of his extraordinary and distinctive art is the ever-evolving use of polymaterialism. His solo exhibition Scripta Manent, hosted until mid-October 2024 in the historic Magazzini del Sale in Siena, received great acclaim from international art critics and collectors alike.
