A moment that touched hearts

In the venerable Teatro Regio in Parma, a long-cherished wish came true. The historic stage of Italy’s gourmet scene provided the perfect setting as Michael Mayr received his first MICHELIN star.

It has been a long road, but it has paid off,” Mayr says of the moment that became a lifelong dream fulfilled. “Fine-tuning recipes, juggling ingredients — all of it challenges us, yet that is exactly where the joy of our craft lies.”

For more than two decades, Mayr has shaped the culinary identity of the Quellenhof. Twelve of those years as executive chef, leading eight restaurant concepts and a team of 40 staff members. Together with Maître d’Hôtel and sommelier Matteo Lattanzi, he has transformed the Gourmetstube 1897 into a place where precision, courage and finesse come together.
