A Second Chance
for Century Old Olive Trees
A stroll through the gardens of Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise reveals them in many different places: magnificent old olive trees whose history here on Lake Garda reaches back many decades.
A Legacy
Worth Preserving
Many of these trees come from abandoned or neglected olive groves in the area, where they could no longer receive the care they needed or would have been lost to construction projects. In deserted groves, they had been left to fend for themselves through prolonged periods of drought and had become overgrown with thorny vegetation. Regular professional pruning had also been neglected. Yet pruning is important not only for olive production, but also for maintaining a healthy, strong and resilient tree.
Saved, Nurtured
and Given New Roots
Im Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise sind durch unsere Rescue-Aktion zu einem lebendigen Teil unserer Gartenanlage geworden und haben eine neue Chance erhalten.
At Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise, these century old olive trees have found a new home. They are loved, watered, carefully tended and provided with the nutrients they need, allowing them to gradually regain their strength and vitality.
Today, they shape the landscape around several areas of the resort, including our padel courts and the swimming pool at the Dependance. These trees are between 80 and 100 years old and would otherwise have been lost forever. Thanks to our rescue initiative, they have become a living part of the gardens at Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise and have been given a second chance.
For us, this too is sustainability: preserving what already exists, protecting valuable resources and giving a future to old trees that have been growing here in the area for generations.
